Over the years, I've enjoyed sharing my journey with you through various platforms. While "The Operative" is a new blog, many of you may not know that my previous blogs, Photosicle and Googtoon, have been around since blogging became mainstream in 2005. Many of you have reached out with questions about what guides my thoughts and the way I approach writing each post. Today, I want to pull back the curtain and give you a candid look at the "template" that shapes my writing. This isn't just a set of guidelines—it reflects my heart and purpose as we walk together in our faith journey.
Audience:
My primary audience is fellow followers of Jesus. I aim to offer insights to make your walk with Him more fruitful and meaningful. Whether you have been a believer for years or are just beginning to explore your faith, I hope to provide something that resonates with you.
Tone/Style:
I strive to maintain a lighthearted, quirky, and occasionally irreverent tone to reflect my personality. Exploring faith should be accompanied by joy and humor, even when dealing with serious topics. My writing is casual, conversational, thoughtful, and, at times, philosophical. I enjoy witty and clever writing with surprising turns and comparisons and try incorporating that into my work. Humor, particularly in unexpected contexts, is a key element of my style.
Purpose:
Many of us, including myself, can fall into the habit of practicing faith without much thought, where the experience becomes more routine than intentional. My goal is to challenge that. I want to accompany you, shedding light on the unexplored and well-trodden paths. I aim to be encouraging as we explore new territories and revisit familiar and satisfying aspects of your faith journey. Together, we can discover new ways to see and experience Jesus.
Length:
I strive to balance meaningful content with digestible length. It is important to cover topics substantively without overwhelming you with excessive information. I aim to provide enough depth to be impactful yet concise enough to keep you engaged.
