The Core of The Operative
Welcome to The Operative, where we dive headfirst into the glorious messiness of being human! If you've ever felt like life is a series of beautifully chaotic moments strung together by sheer willpower and divine grace, you're in the right place. Here, we balance the tightrope of objective discernment and subjective insights while keeping our humor intact and hearts open.Embracing Transformation Over Obsolescence
You've probably heard the saying, "When you stop growing, you start dying." Well, here at The Operative, we like to put a twist on that. We believe we are either being transformed or becoming obsolete.
Life isn't just about surviving; it's about thriving and excelling–it's becoming the best version of ourselves. This entails reflecting on our transformed character in light of the Creator of all things good. And sometimes (okay, let's be honest—more often than not), that means embracing the mess, flaws, and all.
Rooted in Faith, Open to All
My life has been and continues to be transformed by Jesus Christ's redemption power. This isn't just a footnote—it's the heart of everything we explore here.
But let's clarify: The Operative is a safe space for everyone, regardless of background or beliefs. While my journey with Jesus profoundly influences my reflections, my love for others is inclusive. We're here to share, not to sermonize, and certainly not to offend.
That said, I understand that simply living can be offensive to some. Being blessed with friends from diverse backgrounds, I experienced firsthand how certain perspectives can initially feel objectionable or harsh. Still, we were all fortunate to work through our differences by acknowledging that not seeing eye to eye on every aspect of life doesn't equate to hate – as the culture would have us assume. This is especially true once we recognize that most of us want the same things in life but have chosen different paths to achieve them.
My intention is to share my story, warts and all, and walk alongside you as we navigate the wild terrain of life.
If you ever find something I say offensive, I encourage you to respond in grace (bestowing kindness where it does not appear to be warranted). Feel free to ask for clarification before making judgments, and let's engage in a respectful dialogue. We are all here to learn and grow together.
A Conversational and Casual Journey
The Operative is a casual conversation among friends.
While we respect the seriousness of our journey, we also try not to take ourselves too seriously. Similarly, simultaneously appreciating and laughing at ourselves can understandably cause sensorial disorientation. We might even take an irreverent turn now and then. It is to be expected.
Through relatable stories, candid insights, vulnerable admissions, and lighthearted commentary, don't be surprised if you are provoked by introspections and maybe even shed a few tears from time to time. It's all part of the process of questioning the ground upon which we so firmly stand.
Challenging the Habitual, Embracing the Intentional
Too often, lifelong "Christians" become inoculated from the actual "infection" of Jesus. This immunity creates Christian Zombies—alive but spiritually dormant. This blog aims to awaken the living dead, moving beyond the mere conveyance of information and fostering emotional and spiritual engagement to make our content authentic and impactful.
In other words, The Operative's purpose is to challenge habitual faith and encourage a more meaningful, intentional relationship with Jesus.
We're not about going through the motions; we're about diving deep, asking the hard questions, and venturing into uncharted territories in our faith journey.
Prepare to Be Challenged
The Operative is not about seeking approval or popularity; it's about making a difference in your life and, by extension, in the lives of others.
Get ready to dive deep and break free from restrictive, predefined ways of living and thinking.
At The Operative, introspection is critical but only takes us so far. Actual growth happens when we bounce our thoughts off the ultimate authority. We encourage you to ask the tough questions and explore new paths, but always with the understanding that our introspection must align with the clarity and truth found in Jesus.
So, welcome to The Operative. Let's embrace the mess, laugh at the chaos, and walk this path of transformation together.
Here's to the journey!
